Beer of the day: La Trappe

Today's beer of the day is La Trappe, a Trappist beer, as you may have suspected.

This beer is a Trappist beer, which means that it is not for everybody with its strong, fermented taste. I drank a lot of Trappist beer when I was in university but now I seldom do. Why? I have no idea why. I wonder if Alex or Tyler still drink Trappist beer.

At first, I assumed that this beer was from Belgium but it is actually from the Netherlands: there are apparently six Trappist breweries in Belgium and one in the Netherlands, which explains their French translation:

While I am pleased with this beer, I doubt that I will drink more of it in the summer. I can see myself drinking this in the winter, by the fireplace, or at the monastery where they brew it.
